Dalhousie – A Nature’s Daughter.

If you are a mountain lover. This place is heaven for you with pleasant weather and nature at its best . Mountain slops are covered with variety of trees like fragrant pines and oaks. Ravi river is flowing at the base of the town. I have been there last year in the month of May. And this place has a very special corner in my ❤ as it was my honeymoon destination.

Dalhousie has many seneric view. Perfect place for summer vacations. If you want to see snow in summers you can go to some near by higher elevations like sach pass also known as death roads. Otherwise you can visit dalhousie in the month of Jan-Feb to see snow or if you are lucky enough snowfall as well.

How to reach dalhousie?

So guys, Dalhousie don’t have any railway station or airport. So the nearest railway station is pathankot and pathankot juction from there you can take intercity bus or cab as per your comfort or convenience. If you want to travel in aeroplane so the nearest airport will be pathankot but it dont have much flights so, the Amritsar airport will be other option.

Tourist places in Dalhousie

1) Panchpula

Panchpula is a very beautiful place surrounded by mountains and green valley . This place is best known for trekking. You can do a lot of activities as well like zip lining, kid’s trampoline. This place is also good for small picnic. Few stalls over there are offering tea ans snacks. There was a small waterfall as well called sathdhara. Its is based in lush greenery and said to have some medicinal properties in the tiny seven streams of this waterfall. It is 1 Km downhill walk from Gandhi Chowk. Panchpula ‘s main stream is responsible for supplies water to whole dalhousie.

3) khajjiar

From Subhash Chowk you can take a cab or taxi to khajjiar. There are two routes 22 km and 17 km. Due to snow from Jan-Feb the shortest route was closed. So the only option is routing via Chamba and in between you will see very beautiful seneric views. As many of you already aware khajjiar is also known as Mini Switzerland. I will suggest you to visit this place in summers it will never disappoint you can remind you about Kuch Kuch Hota Hain romantic scenes of Switzerland. Many local photographers will also approach you for photography like couple photos, photos with rabbit (20 Rs) and photos in traditional attire. Other activities like horse riding (300 Rs) , paragliding (1000-2000 Rs) and zorbing. You can also enjoy some snacks to full fill your tummy.

3) Dainkund peak and Pholani Devi Mandir

Dainkund peak is the highest hill in dalhousie and also known as singing hill. This place will amaze you with its natural beauty but the thing which makes it different is the tale of three rivers the charming view of the three rivers- Ravi, Chenab and Beas that stream through the green carpet of grass below and magnify the beauty of the region multifarious. Don’t forget to offer your prayers at Pholani Devi Mandir located here. Its said the Kali Mata has killed many demons , who used to roam around and kill the villagers of Chamba and Dalhousie in ancient era.

4) Sach pass

We have visited sach pass in the month of may to see the snow. It is situated at an altitude of 4420 meters on the pir panjal range of Himalayas. Connecting route in himachal for chamba velley to pangi valley.

Sach pass opens up in the month of may to october depend on weather. The distance from dalhousie to sach pass is 175 km. It took us 1 day to visit sach pass. The place was amazing with lush greenary ,waterfalls and snow. One free advice from my side please chose a car which has enough ground clearance as the roads are not smooth. You can also enjoy maggie as in between in the top there are few shops who offers tea and snacks.
